Dr. Zakiya M. Cush, MPH. is a board-certified Diplomate of Acupuncture through the National Certification Commission of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and is based in New York City. Dr. Cush specializes in Cosmetic Acupuncture & Holistic Dermatology, and she implements TCM and Chinese herbalism therapies to help refine the way the skin ages, thereby creating a healthy & radiant glow from the inside out.

Dr. Cush attended CUNY City College, Drexel University College of Medicine, New York Medical College (NYMC), the School of Health Sciences and Practice, & Pacific College of Health and Science, in New York. Dr. Cush has an extensive biomedical & dermatology background and practices both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Western medicine here at Her Inem Dermatology. She is also passionate about public health disparities, especially in medicine and in the field of dermatology. And her study on “The Upper East Side vs Central Harlem: What is responsible for the Dermatology Disparities that shaped these Communities?” was published by her school New York Medical College, where she obtained her MPH degree.

During her clinical training, she was exposed to several different styles of Acupuncture, but her emphasis is on TCM therapies. She is also certified in Clean Needle Technique by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM). Dr. Cush is a member of The Skin of Color Society, and she is committed to the education of health care providers and the public on dermatologic health issues related to skin of color. And she implements their ethos in her practice.

Dr. Cush is a Certified Integrative Microneedling Practitioner, Certified Aesthetic Laser Technician and she successfully completed the first nationally recognized 100-hour Advanced Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture program, taught by the esteemed Dr. Shellie Goldstein, L.Ac. Dr. Cush is also a certified Yoga Instructor. She obtained her 200-Hour certification through Yoga Works, and her 85-Hour Pre-natal & Post-natal certification with the Prenatal Yoga Center.

Dr. Cush has also been featured in several publications and on-line magazines, as a medical source for health, wellness, and holistic beauty, including DERMASCOPE magazine, Healers Magazine, NYMC Quill & Scope, and others. As a student doctor she appeared on several Instagram Live sessions with REPLENIX skincare where she shared her experiences and expertise on TCM and dermatology.
